This project is my IT415 Final Project part 2. It was created in semester 20EW1 which ran from September through October of 2020. It is a project implementation plan and system design document.
Requirements and Knowledge
It required the ability to create a solution, design a plan, and determine what resources would be needed to implement the solution. The plan I developed for this project required evaluating what hardware and software would be needed to complete the plan. This required knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and security.
The proposal required analyzing the technical and non-technical risks associated with the project as well. The proposed solution required knowledge of advanced networking, a security-first approach, and project planning.
Key Takeaways
This artifact taught me how to evaluate requirements better and how to create project documents such as Gantt charts, work breakdown structures, and project timelines. These skills are particularly important to have as they are necessary skills to effectively work on projects in IT.
I selected this artifact because it showed a complete example of the outcome. The project clearly demonstrates my ability to design a solution and create an implementation plan.
Challenges
Like part one of the project, the biggest challenge on this was time. I was confident in my knowledge of the subjects, and being a quick learner, I wasn't afraid of picking up new skills like working with Gantt chats and work breakdown structures.
I haven't had the chance to do much project management since I graduated, but I feel confident I would be able to handle it, given enough time.
